Praise for Santander

I withdrew some cash yesterday from a Link ATM and when I got home I discovered I had been given £20 less than requested (and had been deducted from my account). One easy phone call to my new bank Santander this morning and it was resolved, missing money being credited back to my account tomorrow.

After 20 odd years of endless trouble with Barclays I'm so glad I switched to Santander a few months ago. I know Santander have had a lot of criticism re their customer service in the past but so far, they have been great with me and light years better than Barclays.

most banks do this now, BUT if when the cash machine is audited it balances then Santander MAY debit your account the £20

Thanks for the info Tubbss, but whatever happens I just thought it worth mentioning that the customer services support I got from Santander was SO much better than I ever got from Barclays, not least because their telephone number is easy to find and an actual real live human being answers the phone!

We have had good service from them as well. We were dubious when they took over Abbey who we had been with for many years. Now use the 123 account with the 123 credit card paid in full each month.
