Santander internet banking credit card application

Hi
I wanted to ask if applying if a credit search occurs if you apply through internet banking, as details are pre filled in?

Does this mean that I am pre approved? Or is this something different.

Thanks

Banks will usually do a full credit search if you apply for new products, even if you're an existing customer. Even if you were pre-approved (Halifax does this for some existing customers) they still have to do a full credit check.

Use the MoneySavingExpert eligibility checker if you're unsure.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.
  • I was'nt approved online, but was approved in branch, for Santander CC...:j
