Easy. Yes they are and yes I've tried other brand. I've used mine most days for years now. They make such a difference.

Wow. I didn't know about the sell out and now I have several brands to investigate. I'm off to Amazon to read reviews.

    Thanks everyone!!

But were you happy with your new ones until you read what other people have said here?

I bought a new pair of GHDs about 6mths ago (the amethyst ones in the Black Friday sale) and to be honest I haven't notice any difference in performance to the old classic GHDs they replaced.

My hairdresser uses titanium plated straighteners (I forget the brand now) and they're really good too.

I have recently switched from GHD's to L'Oreal stream pod at the recommendation of a hairdresser friend of mine. Having been a complete GHD addict I can't believe how much better the L'oreal ones are.
They are large and not really portable for a holiday but at home I now wouldnt use anything else.:T

No nothing to do with what i read here or on the internet,i just know they are not as good as my broken pair.
Maybe mine are faulty but i swear other people on the internet are saying the same as me that they are not as hot as they used to be.I have thick hair and using GHD they made my hair silky but the new ones dont, yet the Nicky Clarke cheap ones do as they are hotter.

Ok this is others talking about GHD
    http://www.productreview.com.au/r/ghd/253693.html

Just called Amazon and they offered to replace or refund me.I went for replace cause it be interesting to see if the new ones they send are still not warm enough.I nearly said replace with Cloud 9 straighteners but like everyone i do like GHD.
