Trampled mouse plant

I hope somebody can help as I'm quite worried/upset about this (sounds daft to be so upset about a plant!).

We've just had the fence redone in our small garden. There was only one plant in the garden that I wanted kept safe - a mouse plant (http://www.shootgardening.co.uk/plant/arisarum-proboscideum) which was taken from the clump my Grandma gave me when I was a little girl. Of course, it got well and truly trampled, despite repeated requests to the guys doing the fence :(

It has been in my garden for about 18 months, maybe a little more, and was nice and healthy as far as I could tell. It was about a foot wide and had loads of flowers. After the fencers stomped all over it, it has no leaves left, just a bunch of sad looking stalks which are withered - I think they're just going to die off for this year. I don't think the roots have been disturbed much, although tree roots have been pulled out from around it.

What do you think are the chances that it will come back next spring? It's very easy to grow so I am hoping it will bounce back. Is there anything I can do to help it? Should I feed it, water it, sprinkle it with magic plant potions?

Thanks!

How annoying but it should bounce back with some TLC, sprinkle some blood fish and bone around (what's left of) the plant and fork in, then make sure it doesn't get too dry until at least mid summer. You'll likely get a second set of leaves this year to help build up the tubers.

Thank you, I will do that. I don't normally use that kind of thing in the garden as I'm veggie but I will make an exception for this plant!
