The NOAH Compendium is useful for this sort of thing, it has data sheets for tons of animal medication

We've always used Frontline with our dog, but changed to Advocate at the advice of our vets. However, he had allergic reactions to it and had lots of sores on his back and back legs. According to our vets that isn't possible, but since we changed back to Frontline it's all cleared up...0
