    Whys that?

If it's within 14 days since the account was opened, go ahead and close it.

If it's after 14 days, it would show up on your credit report. And it would bring the average age of your accounts down ridiculously - This is bad for your credit rating with lenders.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

I'd just give the application a go online now. If you've got a solid history, you shouldn't have a problem having a second application.

I gave it a go but failed their Eligibility Check.

I have a loan which I took out on the 18/07/2013 and a £1000 overdraft both with the co-op. No store cards or credit cards and I've never missed a payment on anything. I guess I'm not very appealing to lenders.

Barclaycard Platinum does occasionally offer 0% interest transfers to current accounts but only to selected existing customers. You might get lucky if you bide your time and make the regular payments for a while on the loan, keep checking the website (or check your post) to see if Barclaycard select you to receive the offer - something they may well do if they notice you haven't transferred any balances...

Alternatively, do you have another c/card that you can transfer funds to your current account with (regardless of interest)? If so, you could transfer the money to your current account from that one, and then transfer the outstanding balance from that card over to the Barclaycard Platinum to use the 0% interest on balance transfers...

Edit: Sorry, just saw in your last post that you don't have any other c/cards, so that plan is out the window.

They will usually accept overpayments even if it's not for the full amount.

Contacted the co-op today and they don't accept overpayments but will do a partial settlement. I can either take a cheque into a branch or post it to them. Now to find my cheque book...
  • In my experience best for money/bank transfers is Fluid (part of MBNA), I have Barclaycard and it has never shown the bank transfer options whereas Fluid always does (on my account at least)

It will 'show' on everyone's account, since it's a standard feature of the product rather than a facility offered to selected customers only like Barclaycard's is.
