How would they do this? (Samsung s3, webpages, connected to car stereo?)
Phone is Samsung galaxy s3 (which they want to keep, and not change)
Car is Golf, 2005 model..
Stereo system, is the basic golf one (which came with the car)
They want to connect the samsung galaxy s3 Internet, to the car stereo,
so they can connect to the phone internet, on sites which play 'music', so that this music can be played through the car stereo, when driving.
(without mp3s or Cds) - but hearing internet website music via the phone.
how would they do this? - get a new stereo with the appropriate holes?
Infact they will be replacing this stereo with a new one... so this old one will be out.. and replaced with a new stereo,
but don't know which new stereo to get... and which holes it this stereo needs, for doing what is asked in this question....
They are happy to get a new stereo (which has new holes, for any wires)... and are ok to get the appropriate wires.
We dont want a new phone, samsung galaxy S3 needs to be kept and used.
We know you can do it with the Iphone... and I pod, but are asking for the Samsung galaxy s3 to the car stereo

It doesn't really matter what the phone is, the communication is all done by a couple of standard methods.
Replacing the original headunit with one with bluetooth is the best way, and not that expensive these days. Most bluetooth units will also come with a mic, allowing the phone to be used hands-free for calls, too.
The other option would be to find a headunit with an "AUX" jack socket, then use a cable between that and the phone's headphone socket.
Obviously, the driver needs to remember that they can't hand-hold the phone whilst driving...0 -

Android is an open platform so the choice in implementation can make it tricky.
Cheap way is to connect to head unit via line in and if you want to be safe get a bluetooth remote for the galaxy s3 (or keep it charged every time you're in the car and keep the screen onso player controls are visible). But this would be illegal as it's a phone and not a stero and you cannot press buttons on your phone while driving but you can do on your stero
If you want it to be fully integrated so you can use the play/skip etc buttons on your steering wheel you will need to upgrade to a stero system that has Android/Galaxy s3 support. This can get expensive, as you will probably need to spend another £100 (with fiting) on an adapter kit [not including the cost of stero here] so your aftermarket stero and steering wheel controls work.0 -

You can, if the phone is fixed to the car in a phone holder. What goes around - comes around0 -
Do they realise that there are very high data usage charges unless you have a high data limit in your contract? Driving around the mobile connection is probably not up to the job - drive in Wales and so on you are stuffed. Better off getting a decent memory stick in the phone and downloading songs into it using DoubleTwist or WinAmp.
Aux cable connections depend on a good match, some don't seem to like the output from a headphone socket very much. Some cheap radios have good iPod connectivity.
The trouble with Golfs and a lot of modern cars is that they have systems that are unique fit to cut out car theft problems so it tends to be a bit of a trial to replace them with an aftermarket model as you need facia replacements. The wiring underneath is normally standard. Upmarket cars like Audi's and Mercs are so integrated into the vehicle that it is not worth bothering with (but the systems they use are pretty good anyway, with bluetooth and other connections built in).0 -
An mp3 is about 4-5mb.
A web page probably takes that much data these days with all their fancy animations and high def image.
case in point, visit paypal.com they have a stupid animation of someone drinking coffee. Pretty sure the download size for that is larger than a song.0 -

Nope, 1.3Mb...
You are a website designer?
http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bNBgz3/paypal.com
Total download size 4.8mb (all content on homepage)
home-signup.mp4 is 2.3mb
I guess it depends on your connection there is probably a speed test and device check and they have different versions of the page that they send.
But just imagine what a browsing session on ebay or paypal will consume in data.0 -

Some of the time, yes, but - in this case - I merely right-clicked on it, and "Save Video as", then right-click and properties...0 -

they probably served different sized video depends on screen resolution or something.
You probably won';t get that sized page on your iPhone. But you would on your iPad. Also pages like my ebay which have tonnes of tables and tiny graphics files add up. Would not be surprised if just a plain non-multimedia page ends up totally 2mb or something.0
