Using TP-LINK AV200 with samsung smart tv

Hi

My sky broadband wireless connection in my living room is pretty weak which wasn't a huge issue with tablets but we have recently purchased a samsung smart tv model no ue46f4620 and we find that netflix keeps dropping out.

My router is in the bedroom next to the PC and can't be moved due to where the master socket for the phone line comes in so the distance leads to the wireless connection just being 2 bars.

We tries using a sky extender and all this did was make tablets so slow to use so I went and purchased a set of TP-LINK AV200 plugs. They look as though they are connected as the light is on. Both plugs are connected directly into a wall socket and I have plugged both sets of leads into the router and tv respectively.

I cannot get the tv to connect using the plugs. I am completely non technical, a dummy in fact and really need some advice on what to do to get the connection to work and I can watch netflix .:o

Have you gone into the menu on your TV to set up the connection there? We have a Panasonic TV so I can't tell you how to do it exactly, but I would look for something like Network Setup or Status and put in the password you use to connect to the internet.

I have these with my Samsung TV and they work fine without tweaking any settings. Try putting them adjacent to each other in a double socket or 4 way extension and pairing them using the buttons. Once paired you can then move them to their correct locations.

Have you done a new set up Network on the TV, if I recall you have to re-do it to change from wi-fi to cable.

Many thanks for the suggestions folks. I will try pairing them today and see if it now gives me they option to set up a new network. I did try that briefly yesterday but thought setting up the new network was complex.

    Thanks all.

as already suggested, pairing is the next thing to perform.
If I remember correctly, there is a slightly different combination of button pushes on that model for pairing to an existing network (ie adding a new extender to an already working system) and for pairing the first two from scratch.

Just out of interest, is one of the home plugs a wireless capable device or are both of them wired versions.

Both are wired versions (at least I think so)

Many thanks for all the suggestions folks. As always muse to the rescue. I have it up and running now
