ATM's and Dispensing Cash

I went to the ATM inside the local costcutter, one of those link machines that's now free (thankfully). I checked my balance and tried to take out £70. The machine didn't dispense the money saying there was an error/timed out. I checked my balance again (and again on the phone when i got back) and it doesn't seem to have been taken from my account. However it is sunday so this may not show up until the morning.
Does anyone know what the proceudre is for dealing with this if there is a problem because I can't imagine the shop will take me seriously if I walk in and say "your machine didn't pay me money yesterday". Thanks.

If you do get deducted the money from your balance your bank will make an ATM claim to get your funds back , it sounds like you won't need to do this as your available balance has not changed .0

It's not changed, but it's sunday. It wouldn't show up till tomorrow surely?0

No - these are real-time transactions. It would not show as a line item, but your available balance would give the game away!0

YOu mean the 'amount available'?0

It's nothing to do with the shop, they won't have any access to the internals of the ATM and they won't do the balancing. As with all ATM issues without exception the procedure is that you contact your card issuer, who will investigate any issue - trying anything else is almost certain to fail.0

It happened to me many times but the amount has never been deducted out of my account so you should be fine.
However, as Buzby says, your available amount would show a £70 withdrawal immediatley if you want to double check0 -
Thanks for answering.0
