Firstly, the card company should have to correct the mark on your credit report as they've accepted it's their mistake.
One thing that may help is if you get a letter from them stating that it was a fault on their end, you could show this to your mortgage broker and they may revert back to the original deal. It's not guaranteed, but it's your best bet.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

This is sadly a prime example of why people need to check their credit reports. I really this should be don't well before applying for a mortgage. The CRA have far to much weight and influence to allow any details to be wrong. Your only hope is that you get a letter from the credit card company detailing the whole event including an admittance of their error and the fact they will update your credit file immediately. Sadly even if they do this your actual credit file may take 6-8 weeks to update fully.
if your mortgage does fall through. Then you must file for compensation from the Credit card company as you have clearly suffered financially and mentally from their error.
Hopefully the letter will be enough but I think sadly with the new mortgage rules you may be a victim hereCurrent DebtNet Monthly Pay £2550[STRIKE]Barclaycard £0 / £2500 (23.9%)[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Lloyds Credit Card Settled[/STRIKE]

Unlikely that the issue in itself would have impacted your mortgage offer to that degree. Not least that lenders will score you themselves not take any notice of CRA's ratings.0

OK..try and get a letter from your credit card provider confirming it was there mistake.
Then, present this to the Halifax - but only if you are sure that the marker impacted the Halifax's mortgage rating of you - if it didn't you could end up making things worse.
James Jones will be along shortly from Experian to tell you this is all your fault and this is why you should pay £14.99 a month to his wretched company. Just ignore him.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -
So you are within 10 days of exchanging contracts and you do not have a concrete mortgage offer - sorry but something does not add up here.
Get the mortgage company to write a letter confirming that the credit card foul up is the sole reason they want a higher deposit from you - I bet you that they won't.0
