Mira Shower and lukewarm water

We have a Mira shower fitted in our ensuite which according to the paperwork we were left by the previous owner of our flat it is a Mira Select. Up until about a week ago it worked perfectly fine until one day when I was in the shower and turned the thermostat dial to adjust the temperature and it unclipped itself from the unit. Didn't think much of it, clipped it back on and away we went.
Now, however, no matter where the dial is at on the unit the water is only lukewarm
We have taken it off multiple times and put it back on to see if it was just in the wrong position but there's only so many ways it will re-attach. When taking it off and using the actual dial hidden behind it has the same result.
Anyone any ideas? We're getting hot water from all other taps in the flat as normal and like I said, before the dial fell off it was absolutely fine!

Sounds like the lever needs fitting correctly . It could require a new cartridge tooHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

Thank you. Would that be something we could easily do ourselves or would I be better calling a professional?0 -
Fitting a new thermostatic cartridge on most Mira mixer showers is fairly straight forward, requiring you to turn of the water (both hot and cold) to the shower*, unclip a few plastic fittings, undo 4 screws, pull out the old car, then reverse the process with the new cart going in (make sure you note the orientation of the old cart, as you don't want to fit the new one with the cold side of the cart on the hot side of the input and make sure the washers/seals don't come free - I would recommend covering the shower drain when changing the cart, although they do come with two spares from memory).
If it's a "built in" mixer you might have a bit more faff to do it.
If you're not 100% certain what exact model your shower is (some changed after certain dates), taking the cart out should let you get it's part number so you can be sure you're getting a suitable replacement.
It took me about 15 minutes to do with our Mira Excel when it died, the new part was a single unit regardless of incoming pressure, where the old one apparently came in two variants, one for high and one for low water pressure.
Shower Doc have a good selection of spares at reasonable prices, and from memory fitting instructions/videos, and delivered within about 2 or 3 working days when I used them.
The select carts range from about £90-130 depending on the exact model (IIRC the RRP is quite a bit higher).
*depending on when and who fitted the shower it could be very easy to do, as usually these days they'll have isolator valves before the shower at some point.0
