I'm really behind and trying to skim through so apologies if this has been posted already but I seem to remember someone posted that they'd had problems with their Tassimo machine red descaling light staying on even after they'd just descaled their machine. I had the same problem and found the answer with step-by-step instructions here:

    http://nerdfever.com/?p=983

Some of the comments on the above page suggest using various things to replace the extortionately priced Bosch Tassimo descaling tablets (lemon juice seems to be popular). However, I didn't want to risk my machine so searched Amazon and found "Bosch Decalcifying Tablets for Coffee Machines and Kettles, 6 Tablets" for £7.50 (in hard water areas you need 2 tablets for each descale so £2.50 per time compared to the 2 treatment pack for £6 on the Tassimo site). These worked very well and my descaling light has now gone off. :j

Has anyone found any cheaper way to descale their machine that they are confident won't damage it?

PS If you didn't manage to stock up during the recent Tassimo coffee pod glitch then Tassimo are having a 2 for 1 offer at the moment:
    https://www.tassimo.co.uk/Drinks%20Range?productFilterPreSelects=1379&ecmp=part_costapromo_uk_022014

    HTH

I have had my tassimo about 3 years now and don't use anything to descale it with. Also are people letting it go through the descaling as when I first did it I just pressed the button after putting the descaling disc in, didn't hold it in for 10 secs (roughly) and wondered why the light did't go out. You need to press and hold in then let it go through a long cleaning process that takes about half an hour and fills about 3-4 mugs with water.

The 2 for 1 is only on that one drink not all the flavours btw
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
