I'd be interested to know what length of dates they put on eggs from when they're laid. It's years since I bought any.
I have kept eggs for a month after they've been laid and they've been fine. Some people say 6 weeks but I've never had any that have been around that long.
I also don't keep my eggs in the fridge, never have. I don't know if refrigerating them prolongs the freshness or not?

For my sins i used to work at an egg farm, the eggs get collected daily and washed/packed onto trays, the lorry comes daily , 7 days a week 365 days a year and takes them where there sorted again then go out so i would say max 7 day turn around.
When they are waiting for the lorry they sit in a big walk in chiller on the pallets hth:D

Thanks for the asda tips last night... They didn't have any of the bacon, or I was looking for the wrong thing, but I did find plenty of lamb chops, so massive thank you to Tinyshoes and David for the info :A

Evening guys, just having a quick catch up so apologies if already asked but what is the deal with the lamb chops please.

That's my thinking exactly. But then why do fridges have egg holders?

Think it goes back to Eggwina Currie and fridge manufactures saw pound signs but that could just be cynical old me

Thanks, that's weird I wonder what I did wrong

You linked to a private album which didn 't work. Then you moved it to a folder called "mse" but didn't update the link

If they had just not bought the beans, it would probably have given a £3+ APG, although I don't think it quite works out like that (as would have to factor out 10% of the slightly lower total?).

Oh well, at least they got their 16 cans of beans for £5, as opposed to 21 for under half that cost:wall:.

I keep my eggs in the fridge, but that is because it keeps them out of the way and they are less likely to be broken.
