Take lisam's shop for example. Here the beef was fine as it was effectively a filler with other things she was buying. She paid £11.50 for 1kg of beef and got an apg for £6.10 making the beef £5.40 per kilo.
If you just buy beef and 7 10p sweets then to me, the beef costs £6.10 a kilo as I give all the sweets away.
If you just buy 1kg of beef then it costs you £6.
It is interesting what you say about recycling apgs and I think that sometimes some of us forget to think about value in the hunt for that next glitch and that all important next apg.
Think about my examples above. If you just want to buy beef for a Sunday lunch would you..
a) Just pay £6 for a kilo?
b) Pay £11.50 for a kilo plus 70p in 10p sweets so you could get an apg back for £6.10?
Option a) is easy peasy and if you just want beef, buy it and job done. Option b) however involves spending more cash in the hope that the glitch still works and the stress of hoping that you've bought enough fillers and possibly realising that there is little or no value in the amount of risk taken on buying a product that you cannot return if it all goes wrong.
If the beef hadn't glitched, you would have ended up paying £11.50 per kilo for a bit of meat you can buy by itself for £6 with no fillers. Was it worth the risk to save a maximum of 60p, that is up to you.
And remember, apgs are real money, just money that you have to spend in A. Value, however is a different thing and we should all always think of how to get the best value whether we use apgs to pay for our shopping or not.
Sorry, didn't mean to go on, Savvy's got a gun in my back as I type..;)

It's 6 kg in Tesco not asda
500g bits of beef are £5.75 each in A or £11.50 per kg and they compare to £6 per kg in T.
The same beef, but in bigger sizes and different packaging is £6 per kg in A.
What I am saying that in certain circumstances, is it worth taking the risk on a glitch that might not work for a return of just 10% plus fillers? You decide..:)0 -
