Good afternoon Elite
I hope you've enjoyed your shopping todayanother nsd for me
dh very happy with me as I've started to pack my casewell spare shoes are in and knickers
the rest will follow tonight or tomorrow morning
ds3 has said he will pick us up at 3am Thursday morning and drive us to Norwich airport for a 6.30am flight. I won't get any sleep tomorrow night then, I never can the night before we go away. Guess I could be here then
Have to do a shop tomorrow to fill fridge up for ds4, freezer is rammed so should keep him going for a couple of weeks whilst dh and I are away
On the subject of someone trying to sign into mse accounts it is obviously a disgruntled poster trying to cause trouble. I've not had a problem with mine and I'm sure the powers that be at mse will soon have the matter sorted.
Now off for a catch up, will have to hop and skip though as there are so many pages to catch up onThere's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -

It was, so I thought I would cut the grass whilst it as dry ( first time in over a week) What does the lawn mower do? Grinds to a halt a the furthest point from home (sods laws eh?) drive belt broken. Push it all the way to the garage and it's not the easiest of jobs to do as the cutting deck has to come off first then its other fiddly bits and pieces including the steering column etc
Fixed it:D cut the lawn front and back and now it looks like it is going to rain. Good job done
Good job my dad taught me to be practical, though i'm sure there are somethings that I was taught that I will have no use for - like welding :eek:Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

As I've said before, I anyone has original receipts and APGs over £10, I'd be happy with them:). (Not soliticing or anything.)
Hello, it's that time of the week again...decisions, decisions:think:. The wombles on Mondays and Tuesdays I'm always looking at whether to enter them or to wait as the Morries comp. may prove to be decisive and may want the old (or the new) pricing. This time - are more of the Old El Pasos now picking up £2? Yes I have a womble with one of them on, and I'm thinking it might have lost out vs T as it's got some Oreo Vanilla on and the nappies may compare more vs T but go N/A vs M. Cat Litter is alright on either:rotfl:. I think they missed off the Oreo Vanilla on the old collection though - so either wanting that data now or for them to miss the Oreo again on the new collection. Probably no choice as it's probably already the new collection that's now in there?
See what the shopper had caused - all this, just because they decided to take a pack of Oero cookies:rotfl::rotfl:.
I've just come here from one of my other 'special interests' - these 'distractions' in the background of the news:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2433055/BBC-News-workers-fighting-umbrellas-picking-nose-presenters-causes-viewers-outrage.html
To me they lighten the mood and are quite fun aren't they? I'm someone that, normally, something in the background stands out and distracts my attention and then draws me in towards it. But to be fair I cope fairly well with the News - what's going on (or not) in the background doesn't usually draw my attention. :doh:Perhaps I am missing so much and ought to be looking?
Personally my favourites are when I spot the news presenter whose just finished on BBC ONE walking out in the newsroom just afterwards. Or Sophie Long hanging around behind Jane Hill on BBC ONE's 3.10pm bulletin last Christmas Day after having just finished on the news channel:D:rotfl:.
I don't know about being "stunned". I'm rather stunned by the apostrophe after the word "Viewers" in the headline there:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
[Edit: I agree with this comment actually, from "Dave" at the above link:
"I find it very distracting watching all this going on....the newsreaders, that is. Can we have more of the antics in the background being given more prominence."]0 -
I'm sure you are right - but I have a wodge of APG's that I need to recycle plus some gift cards for overcharges. I didn't spend any 'real money' on my shop.Ooops didn't expect the apg to be over £10
2 x ASDA Butcher's Selection Beef Roasting Joint (500g... £11.50 £6.00
2 x Dove Men + Care Fresh Awake Energising Scent Body ... £7.40 £4.00
Comparison total (compared products only) £24.99 £14.89
Take lisam's shop for example. Here the beef was fine as it was effectively a filler with other things she was buying. She paid £11.50 for 1kg of beef and got an apg for £6.10 making the beef £5.40 per kilo.
If you just buy beef and 7 10p sweets then to me, the beef costs £6.10 a kilo as I give all the sweets away.
If you just buy 1kg of beef then it costs you £6.
It is interesting what you say about recycling apgs and I think that sometimes some of us forget to think about value in the hunt for that next glitch and that all important next apg.
Think about my examples above. If you just want to buy beef for a Sunday lunch would you..
a) Just pay £6 for a kilo?
b) Pay £11.50 for a kilo plus 70p in 10p sweets so you could get an apg back for £6.10?
Option a) is easy peasy and if you just want beef, buy it and job done. Option b) however involves spending more cash in the hope that the glitch still works and the stress of hoping that you've bought enough fillers and possibly realising that there is little or no value in the amount of risk taken on buying a product that you cannot return if it all goes wrong.
If the beef hadn't glitched, you would have ended up paying £11.50 per kilo for a bit of meat you can buy by itself for £6 with no fillers. Was it worth the risk to save a maximum of 60p, that is up to you.
And remember, apgs are real money, just money that you have to spend in A. Value, however is a different thing and we should all always think of how to get the best value whether we use apgs to pay for our shopping or not.
Sorry, didn't mean to go on, Savvy's got a gun in my back as I type..;)0
