Info plz: little points about networks that make big diff's
Hi. I'm asking this for my own reference, but I will also document this for others in the future.
Porting away from O2, I'd like to know the following info about each of the other networks EXCEPT Orange which I already have.
1. 1471 Support: yes/no
2. Missed call alert via SMS yes/no
3. Minutes/Textx remaining via automated system phone call: yes/no
4. GPRS remaining via automated system phone call: yes/no
5. 3 and 4 but via free SMS request
6. Validity of mins/SMS/GPRS in hours: 24/48/72
7. Account balance since last bill via automated system, SMS or via customer services: select
8. Free Voicemail: yes/no
9. Voicemail alert via SMS: yes/no
10. Ability to turn off voicemail through voicemail menu: yes/no
11. Ability to have just message and no leave message facility via voicemail menu: yes/no (useful if going on extended holiday)
12. Any particularly noteworthy voicemail features? Such as free selection of celebrity greeting, etc? yes/no
13. Ability to forward messages to same/other networks or post new messages via voicemail to same/other networks/landlines: select and explain
14. GPRS bundles available and cheaper than pay-as-you-go GPRS usage: yes/no and explain
15. Online billing and viewing of calls before billing date: yes/no
16. Extra SMS through website: yes/no
Please answer for Vodafone, T-Mobile and '3' if you have experience with these networks. I don't remember my time on '3' that well so can't offer 100% correct info.
I'll probably think of more points. I'm asking here because I'm having trouble with the networks giving me straight answers, they don't seem to think whether or not 1471 works or if the missed call alert is given by SMS matters, but for one who's partially sighted, voice prompts are obviously preferred so it matters to me.
I'll collate all the information into a web page, this will hopefully settle the issue - save the same questions being asked over and over again.
Cheers and thanks for your time..
