cancelled home insurance.

Hi all,

Just out of interest, a few years ago....maybe 3yrs I had a policy with LV for home and contents. I made a claim for a water leak and afterwards LV cancelled my policy and said they would not reinsure me as I had made too many claims over a short period of time.

Alll claims were checked by a loss adjuster and agreed etc. We were just unlucky that year.

Does this mean now I have to state that I have been declined house insurance?

Thanks

From what you say you have a "cancelled" policy to disclose (if asked)

    You should clarify.

In one sentence you say LV cancelled your policy. and then they wouldn't reinsure you. 2 different things.

And yes, you have to declare it and they will ask about your claims too.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Sorry the claim was about two months before the end of the policy, they stated they would not reinsure us due to the claim history.....which considering we had an almost 0 claim history for the 25yrs before was a little hard to swallow.

In that case you have a "refusal to renew" to disclose if asked if any insurer has refused to renew a policy for you.
