If the stools don't fit your stall and turnout to be stools will you stall for time and stool on Argos, give them the finger with the stall on, or just stall and be the stool pigeon.
If the 3 legged chair don't fit your compartment and is !!!!!! will you delay and snitch on Argos, show them the bandaged digit or just stop and be the informer.

Seeing as the answer hasn't yet been given:
If you go to Argos with the catalogue number and they say, "There has been a mistake in the catalogue; there are only two stools. Do you still wish to go ahead?" then they are not obliged to sell you four stools at the same price.
If you buy the item and only get two stools (but they don't tell you there are only two) then the item has been misdescribed. Again, this does not mean that you will get an extra two stools. It does, however, entitle you to a refund under the Sale of Goods Act 1979.
I hope this helps (and sorry it's not the answer you're looking for. But it does mean you have nothing to lose)

I dont know if you remember the incident with the Revlon and the Champneys make up mirrors but its a kind of similar thing where by you are looking at a picture and description of an item only to be given something else when you have brought and paid for it.
I stood waiting for my mirror after having paid and when she was about to bag it up i pointed out to her that it wasnt the right one sent down (already knowing this because someone else had done it on here). I had paid for a Champneys one at £14.99 (thats what description and picture showed) but got sent down a Revlon one (which was the one which really should have been £14.99 and the Champneys was actually £39.99). So i argued it out with them and they ended up letting me have the Champneys one sent down for £14.99 instead of proper price of £39.99.
Hope this makes sense as im rather tired at the moment. As they allowed this there may be a chance for you.0 -
The best thing to do is to have a look at the catalogue/brochure in store. They normally correct errors in the in-store copies, obviously they can't do that with ones that have been issued.
Of course, they could simply say "ooops, it's a mistake" but that could lead to a complaint to trading standards. They have a duty not to mis-lead. So, you might stand a chance with this one if they don't point it out before taking the cash.0
