I received a letter from rbs regarding a refund on ppi on my overdraft and loans. I returned the claim form and received a cheque as ppi midsold on overdraft. Received a further letter advising me that I had also been midsold ppi on a loan and they made me an offer which I accepted. Now they are saying they are unable to release this cheque as they can't verify my signature, despite been able to verify it and release first cheque!! And want me to take my id into a branch. No local branch near me and not able to take time off work.0

Do you have a driving licence ?
RBS accepted a copy of mine and a utility bill.Light travels faster than sound.
This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.0 -

Chances are the person who requested the first cheque either did not bother to verify your signature or accepted a close version of it. ?
The second person processing your other complaint is probably being a little more thorough.
I see signatures all the time that bear no resemblance to any on the CCA agrreements, and with a little more diigging discover that the 'partner' no longer has any contact with the person who has sent in the 'mutually signed letter'.
For the money probably involved I'd be making the effort to visit a branch as requested or try the copies of driving licence/utility bill route first.?
The chances of the same caseworker processing the second payment would be very slim I would have thought.0
