Thumbs up to Scottish Provident

My wife called Scottish Provident to request a claim form on a critical illness policy that we have with them. She received the claim form the next day, and then received a phone call from them 3 days later to make sure that we had actually received it.

We then received a further call from them when they had received the completed form back in their offices, and within 3 days, a letter from them stating what the next stage was going to be (them writing to her doctor and surgeon) and not to worry as they would automatically chase these people if they did not receive a reply within a given timeframe.

We are undergoing a fairly stressful and worrying time because of her illness, and it is really reassuring to receive what I consider to be "top notch" customer service from a large insurance provider.

Although our claim has not yet been paid, that is beside the point-

the claim was fully paid today, directly into our bank account. Scottiah Provident even paid us interest (less 20%tax) from the date of our claim being received by them, and refunded us a premium payment that we had made on July.

Absolutely stunningly good claims handling and customer service.
