PMSL, poor old densecake! :rotfl: People can be rather 'abrupt' on here at times!
I hope you get this sorted, but I would have to agree that you should not with-hold rent because of the duff washing machine. If you are leaving soon anyway, does it even matter?
Yeah definitely won't be with-holding the rent. I guess it doesn't matter that much, it just a bit of an inconvenience. Damn washing machine.0 -
As advised
* ring the number
* write to the landlord at the address provided
* google the washing machine make/model - look for instruction manual online
* google 'washing machine stuck rinse cycle' - there are lots of helpful sites
Let's hope you have not cuased damage or damp by flooding the kitchen floor.......
I didn't actually let the water flood out, I was just exaggerating. You think I'm some sort of an idiot or something? (don't answer that).
Thanks for the help broski.0 -
Sounds like the pump has failed. Any mileage in clubbing together with the other housemates and sharing the expense of the repair?
Still, a week isn't that long to wait for an answer from the landlord or to get a service engineer in. I've waited longer when arranging it myself.0 -
What does it say in your tenancy agreement about the washing machine?
Read up your TA, report it in writing and phone them politely to discuss it. Sounds like you only deal with the agency? If so, ask them for a contact number for the LL and phone them directly.0 -

Power cuts effect the consumer unit trip switch, one of the smaller switches falls down and cuts power. As far as I know this was reported by previous room mates via email to the agency. Do you think it is an issue that belongs to the power company?
No, it's something on that circuit. When that one's tripped, what doesn't work? Sockets? Lights? Is that breaker labelled? If you're going to report it to the landlord, make sure it's not something that you've got plugged into a socket causing the problem. Next time the power's out, unplug EVERYTHING on that circuit that you can, and switch off everything else on that circuit. If it still trips, it's something in the circuit itself, but that's less likely. If you get power cuts frequent enough to be an issue, then you can narrow down what's causing it.0 -
If you had any reading comprehension, you would see that I have made no contact to the landlord whatsoever, only the agency.
Also the post you quoted has been edited and it appears the washing machine is still broken.
Your problems with the forum, take it to the mods, if they see fit they will remove all such posts.
I have quite clearly admitted that I have made mistakes, if you can't get past that fact, then feel free to remove your 'help' from the thread.
Thanks.
You think the agent isn't going to contact the landlord??
The post was edited at the same time i was posting.
You need to think before you act or blame other people.0
