Superfast Cymru! Fibreoptic roll out for Wales Check if you can get it?

If you haven't heard of it yet? The above scheme is an initiative to get Fibre optic access available to 96% of Wales by 2016.

Check out your area on this map it should tell you the latest news for your exchange.

One of the main problems I think is there doesn't seem to be much publicity for it all, so some places now have access to Fibre optic but the take up is low as lots of people don't realise.

For a lot of people especially in rural areas it will make a HUGE difference, we have gone from speeds of 3mb to 39MB!!

Yes we are very lucky!

Our little village now has fibreoptic, where a lot of bigger places don't yet which is mad!!

Yup, 60mb here coming into the hub so generally getting speeds of 20+ mb on all devices at the same time (generally 3 on at any one time). Can't get it at all through ADSL though so it's been a huge change for us in the village (near Bangor, Gwynedd)

You must be over the moon with it then!

Yikes - I didn't realise that some places still couldn't get ADSL! :eek: I thought our Broadband was slow can't imagine what using dial up must be like now!
