Has anyone got a detailed itinerary of the Giro route,
yes all very good a bunch of lycras taking over our streets, but for the rest of us, I just want to avoid as much as possible.
The best I can get is a pretty useless map which only lets you zoom in so close http://trafficwatchni.com/giro
It doesn't tell you if its rolling road closures and the expected times.
another typical p!sh poor event organised by our gov depts. and local policing service.

Thanks, but I think you'll find even googling doesn't throw it up into the top few choices.
The most common access for local people would be BBC NI, TrafficWatchNI, instead the have the full information on some obscure website called 'StickyBottle'.....................yeah intuitive.0 -
Thanks. if only they had placed the links the Giro homepage, rather than the web user having to drill down from a sub list LHS,0 -
Googling "giro route Belfast" brought up http://www.girostart2014.com on the first page, with downloadable maps and schedules of closures in particular locations.0

We had a leaflet posted through the door before Easter with all the information on road closure times, viewing points etc
As did everyone else I know0 -
I thought the info was pretty clear, 9.30-12.30, 4.30-8.30 certain roads would be closed. And they stuck to that. Personally I think it's amazing these guys wanted to come here. The people who brought it here should be congratulated, it must have been a hard sell. The organisation seems to have been done very well, and I speak as someone who both lives and works right in the heart of the route. I'm not always a fan of the government or the police but when they get it right they deserve credit, and they've done this right. And I'm very much enjoying the bunch of lycras taking over the streets - at least they aren't chugging booze and throwing bottles which is more than our normal population can manage at times.0

I'll second that. There are people here who are doing an excellent job promoting the place generally.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -

I reckon £5.5 million+ was a fairly easy sell: much better value than wasting it on hospitals like the RVH.:p0 -

If it gets a few lardy people out on their bikes it might help save the health service in the long termand there will hopefully be spin off benefits for tourism...though the weather has not been our friend on that one.
