Question on a Life time warranty

I bought a sink from B&Q 15 months ago and has developed a leak underneath where the resin has eroded, I spoke to the so called customer services and they basically called me a liar by insisting that we had damaged it and could not possible be a manufacturing fault, which it most definitely is. I'm not letting this rest as it costs over £200 to replace and that doesn't include installation fees, I have copied a email of complaint to the CEO of Kingfisher. The sink comes with a life time guarantee and B&Q are saying I should contact the manufacturers, what I would like to know who is really responsible for the warranty?
Thanks for any replies.

Warranties are with the manufacturer, not the retailer.
Have you looked at the T&C's of the warranty? You could have voided it by using Bleach or harsh cleaning fluids on it.
Warranties are more of a sales gimmick than being useful. It is up to you, to prove it is inherently faulty, not the retailer. Get an independent report done by a suitably qualified person. If they can prove it is an inherent fault, then you will have more chance of sorting it out with B&Q.
Have you spoken to the manufacturer yet? I would suggest you do so and see what they say. At least you will have your answer and take it from there.
Link which sink it is and someone may be able to see what the warranty says.0 -

You're confusing the Sale of Goods Act and warranties.
If OP wants to use the warranty, they must follow the terms of that. This is very unlikely to include any requirement for an independent report. In the first instance, it's probably best to contact the manufacturer and pursue this route.
If that fails and OP wishes to claim against B&Q under the Sale of Goods Act, they may need an independent report. But this is only worth pursuing if they get nowhere on the warranty route first.0 -

No I think you are confusing what I have written.
The warranty comes from the manufacturer. They will have T&C's which may mean that something they have done may have voided the warranty. The warranty could have terms in it stating what can and cannot be used to clean it, if this is not adhered to, then they will not accept warranty liability.
The Ind report statement was if they have voided their warranty. I was saying that if this is the case, They would then resort to the SOGA. To use this, they would have to get a report done stating the fault was inherent. This would then be used against the retailer, not the manufacturer.
I did say use the report with B&Q, not the manufacturer, you just didn't read it right. We are both agreeing with the course of action here.0
