Evening all.
I have a phone in for repair. Moto G. Bought it 5 months ago. On PAYG from Phones4u. Microphone doesn't work. Never did.
It's been in for repair since the 21st April (I hand delivered it to Phones4u). It was picked up for repair on the 28th April. The next day it was sent for a "high level repair". Which means it went of to Motorola. The phone is sealed so it's not something that can be easily fixed.
Is there a time limit on how long it can be in repair for? Can I request a brand new replacement after a certain time period?

I've had a search around the forums and can't find anything relevant. So, bump time0

All the SOGA says is reasonable time, it doesn't stipulate! I tend to figure that the DSR allow 30 days to deliver an order so I usually take that as "reasonable" but it does depend on the context. As you say in this case it isn't a simple repair, and we've also had a bank holiday in the mix just to add to delays.
Have you tried asking Phones4U when they are expecting it back?0 -
30 days sound reasonable, however any remedy offered must be done without causing a significant inconvenience. Do you have a replacement phone to use in the meantime?0

Thanks for the replies neilmcl and DD265
I asked Phones4u a couple of days ago who told me it had gone for a High Level Repair. They couldn't offer anymore details than that, other than to phone the tech team.
I am yet to call the tech team. The Moto G phone is a sealed phone/difficult to take a part so it didnt surprise me it had been sent off to Motorola.
I am using a basic phone as a replacement.0
