in Credit cards
Hi all- I have a Vanquis card with just under £3k on it, I've had it for about 4 years. My credit rating used to be appalling but it's much better now, and I was wondering if it would be worth trying for a 0% balance transfer. Would anyone know which might be the best to try? TIA!

Has the £3k balance been on your card for a long time? Ever missed any payments or defaulted? CCJ's? Anything else on your credit history we should know about?
If you don't have any bad marks on your credit report, I'd say to go for the 31 month BarclayCard 0% deal. I had a friend in similar circumstances apply for this (although he had a couple of missed payments) and he got accepted on to the 18 month one after applying for the 31 month one.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Is a £3k available balance or do you actually owe Vanquis £3k?0

The balance on the card is just under £3k, no missed payments at all, no CCJs. I was looking at the Barclaycard so I think I'll try that one. Thanks.0

Depends on circumstances, I got my Vanquis (Aquis) card as soon as I turned 18 and I got 59.9% APR. I think the lowest you usually get is 39.9%.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you.
