DRP Demand on behalf of G24

Hi,

Having had a very successful outcome last year following advice on here I wonder if you kind people could advise me again please, I have searched forum but I'm still unsure what angle to attack this from.

My son went to Sheffield last year near Meadowhall and parked up in a retail park. He had a meal, went bowling with his mates etc, in all likelihood he overstayed the parking time limit which he was unaware of.

The first we knew of any issue was today when a letter came from DRP demanding payment on behalf of G24 to the amount of £110.

We haven't had chance to appeal, to see the evidence etc. I'm sure ignoring it isn't the way to go, do I write to G24 and ask for an explanation, DRP and tell them to go boild their heads?

All advice gratefully received.

Kind Regards - John

just search for , read and follow the same advice given to about another 10 members who have posted this week alone on the same issues with the same two companies

some of them even have template letters you can send too

the NEWBIES sticky thread also has everything you need to know about this

Look at the results of a forum search for 'G24 Recovery' as keywords. Ignore the threatograms or do a robust response but you won't get a POPLA code late unless you are the keeper and can name the driver a different person (your son). Then he should get his own PCN that he can appeal, assuming the original one was allegedly only posted to the keeper. Read the NEWBIES thread, about 'too late to appeal, you think?' and the idea of effectively 'resetting the clock' in your case to a driver appeal - if your son is not the registered keeper.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for that RedX, I was just unsure how to move from this sort of mid point rather than the beginning. I've been through and succeeded with POPLA once and then followed it up with a bill for my time to the land owner which of course I discounted 50% if they paid within 14 days! - that's still ongoing.

that is why on this one you follow the advice given to the dozens of similar cases that we get every week , by finding , reading and following the advice already given to previous posters, ie:- you arent the first and wont be the last

Firstly send an email to DRP saying that the debt is denied and that they must return it to their client. Point out that no further correspondence will be entered into with them and should they contact you again it will be considered harassment. Also point out that you recognise the appeal period has expired but that is something between G24 and the Registered Keeper / Driver.

Then send the following to G24 :

    Dear G24,

This is an appeal against the charge issued to the vehicle with the registration XXXXXX, charge reference XXXX.

It is the registered keepers assertion that :

    1. The charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss.
    2. The signage does not conform to the BPA CoP to which G24 has committed.
    3. G24 has no authority to issue charges over the land in question.
    4. The charge is unlawful and as such the appeal period isn't enforceable. G24 have it within your capabilities to consider a late appeal. Failure to consider this appeal will only result in G24 spending more money chasing a charge both POPLA and the courts would throw out.

As such the charge is rejected. You should now either cancel said charge or provide a POPLA code for the registered keeper to appeal to the independent adjudicator.

Any further correspondence other than confirmation of cancellation or a POPLA code will be considered harassment and could result in legal action being taken against you.

    Yours,

    Print name ( don't sign ).

Try this as a Google search (it will do the search itself):

    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Debt+Recovery+Plus+too+late+for+POPLA+site%3Aforums.moneysavingexpert.com

You are wasting your time and your life on this - read other threads about it. No need to have the dozen threads we currently have about DRP all asking the same stuff when a simple search answers all their questions. There are only so many ways we can say 'you are too late for POPLA, so what, this is only G24/DRP so please search the forum to read about the letters to expect'.

Unless your son is not the registered keeper - as I have already mentioned above.

As I said I did search but couldn't find the answers, I know it's annoying to you regulars and I must apologise again for my initial inability to find the answers without troubling you.

Thank you for your help and advice I really do appreciate it.

Sorry John - that post of mine was added here in frustration after a whole evening of replying to DRP threads where the only answer is 'you can try a robust response to tell them to get lost but after that, ignore the expected chain of letters and laugh at them'! Unless the keeper can name the driver to reset the clock to appeal stage.
