    Was it "you" that they had written to? What Im tyring to say is was it your debt they were chasing or did they really have the wrong person??? I have a felling this is due to one of my old debts - and ifI can get rid of them that easily I might just try it then try and battle them with the "I do not acknowledge any debt.."

    I have just accessed my Equifax report and have noticed 2 searches over 2 days last November from this Thames Credit Ltd and that it states an outstanding debt as the reason. They have not been in contact with me and I have no reason for them to contact me as the last outstanding debt I would have had was possibly about 9 years ago.

    I would like to understand what gives them the right to do this without our permission!!

    Yes me too (last post)- can they add outstanding debt searches legally for dets that do not exist or are statue barrred?
