Yorkshire Building Society.... are they any good?

I'm looking at remortgaging, approx 40% LTV needed. I've got an appointment with a YBS adviser next week as their rates are pretty low and have been recommended in various places recently. However, I've seen a couple of posts on here that they are really hard to deal with/inefficient.
Anyone got any experiences to share?

From personal experience they have been awful currently have a FOS complaint in against them ... if you will have no contact with them and get the low rate then probably worth it. But if you need to really 'deal' with them run a mile.0

I have a savings account with them, along with a couple of other Building Societies. They always offer just a little bit more interest, so on the basis that customers do seem important, I might consider them if I was looking for a mortgage.
Obviously can't comment on the lending side or the FOS complaint though.0 -
Ive just posted this on another thread.... Im not their biggest fan.
That being said, at 40% ltv assuming everything else is straight forward I potentially would give them go... but even then I would be 50/50 on using them.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Dealt with direct - I don't think they deal with brokers
The FOS complaint actually came about by the way they handled our successful mortgage application and the service we received0 -
I've always found their call centre and branch staff to be helpful.0

The new MMR rules are causing delays and YBS only deal direct with customers/borrowers and not brokers.
Another poster on here today has faced a number of delays waiting for appointments with branch/ mortgage advisers due to demand and long interviews.
We have had an offset mortgage with them for over eight years and often call in to our local branch.
Great rates but tough lending policy maybe why they are not in the s$$t like COOP0 -
Had mortgage with YBS for 10-15 years. No issues here.illegitimi non carborundum0
