Canon Printer - recommendations?

I am looking for a new Canon printer - mine having finally died. I need an all-in-one - does not have to have wi-fi compatibility or be enabled for AirPrint.
It does, however, have to be reliable using compatible inks.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

recommendation is don't buy a canon
hp or epson is the way to go. if you're only doing mono print then a laser is a better option0 -

Perhaps you could elabourate? I have been running a Canon MG5350 for 2 years now with no problems and from my experience in the trade, I'd put Canon above HP and Epson in the mid range domestic market.
OP, if you want a Canon machine that takes individual inks and is WiFi Airprint etc then I would suggest an MG6450.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
yep look in the MG range for the features you want is my recomm.Friendly greeting!0

I've tried all different types over the years and Canons are the best quality in my opinion!
You can sometimes find great deals on ebay if you don't mind buying refurbed items ... look for the Canon outlet ... 'canon_uk1'
They have a refurbed MG6450 on there at the moment for just over £60 for example.0 -
Another vote for Canon MG5350 beats Epson and Hp every day.0

The cheap-ish Canon iP4500 I had was far better than any Epson ink-jet I've ever owned -- the ink almost never clogged and print quality was amazing.
Even though the print-head completely seized up in the end (after ~5 years), I'd probably go for another Canon.0 -
Canon i560, still used to print a sheet of A4 approx every couple of weeks, just to check it still works.
It's been on Jettec compatibles all its life.
Worked with Win98se, XP, Win7 64 bit and numerous Linux distros.
Cost £20 second hand, 8 years ago, came with a Tesco bag of spare inks.
(Soon have my money's worth).
Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Another vote for Canon here, I have one out in Spain, and leave it for a couple of months of a time in the heat, and it still prints first time when I return, the Epson, I had to try putting the cartridges in the fridge when not there, and it was still a PITA. MG3100 is what I am using at the moment, but you can get one for £30 MG2450 if you don't need hi-res scanning.
