child benefit and working

Hi just after some advice... My child is looking to get a summer job they are in full time education as is signed up for the following year at college starting in Sept.. from what I have read he is uaully able to do 24 hours a week leaving childbenefit and tax credits uunchanged is this correct..?
As he hasn't worked at all so far is he able to work any extra so the avarage could work out at 24 hours a week for the year? Not sure how it works...
If he wants to do extra do I hve to cancel child benefit for the 6 weeks
Thanks in advance

With regards to child tax credit, give them a ring - only they can give definitive answers to questions, and you really need the right information - have you checked the HMRC website?

I don't know how CB works so can't help with that bit.

There is no limit on the hours he can work as long as he is still in full time non-advanced education or approved training. It is only if he leaves either of those and starts working that the 24 hour rule applies.

Oh.... That's confused me further.. so he would be able to work as much as he likes as longs as he's still in education... Would this then effect tax credits or anything? We only receive child tax credit..
