i have just received today a letter stating that the bank is defending my claim and it has been moved to my local court. what happens now. they offered me a partial offer which i turned down, now they are defending it. will i have to go to court and what are the procedures

Hi, the claim will be moved to your local court and a hearing date will be set. You may/may not have to fill in an allocation questionnaire to send back to the court but a lot of courts are doing away with them at the moment to save time. They will also instruct you whether you will have to submit any further documents to them and state the date they have to be in by.
Many banks settle once you have a hearing date set or as the hearing date nears
