Woodworm in bensons for beds furniture

Hi
I bought a wood bedframe from bensons for beds nearly four years ago and have noticed what looks like woodworm holes. I have contacted the customer services department and have been told (a) it was sold with a 1 year guarantee, (2) the holes could not have been formed by woodworm (3) if it was woodworm, it would be present throughout the bed frame rather than in a specific area (4) if it was woodworm, it would have been evident on delivery.
The helpful response finishes 'in consideration to the length of time we are unable to deem this as woodworm and therefore would not be offering a replacement'.
Does anyone know what my rights are here? I don't necessary want a replacement, but given the amount of money I spent on the bedframe I would not expect to have woodworm in a shop bought item!
Any advice on what I can next would be appreciated.
Thanks

If a bed gets woodworm after 4 years in situ, chances are it got them from the house, not the factory.0

Have you only just noticed these holes? If so how do you know that the bed was sold to you with woodworm present? Is it not possible they have come from within your own home?
The majority of woods used for manufacturing purposes are treated before the manufacturing purpose to eradicate any pests or spores etc. that might be present. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I appreciate what you are saying about it coming from my home but I have checked the entire room (which includes only bensons for bed furniture) and I cannot find evidence of woodworm anywhere else.
It is a small area on one particular panel so I wondering if perhaps the treatment was not as thorough as it should have been.0 -
OP, all you need to do is prove that the woodworm came with the bed.
Not sure how you would do that, but armed with that evidence you will be able to force BfB to provide a remedy.
Good luck.0 -
OP - can you upload a picture of these 'woodworm holes'?
Is there any sign of sawdust in the bedframe, particularly near these holes?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
