Hi guys, just had my first ever winner email but not sure if it's actually even legit or not lol!

I think it's from this post? (searched all sorts of terms, this is the only one I've marked as entered that matches)

Congratulations! You have been selected as a winner in the Hardys England Cricket ticket Prize Draw!
You have won a pair of tickets to the 1st Investex TEST Day 1 England vs Sri Lanka on Thursday 12th June 2014 at Lord’s*

To claim your prize, please respond to hardyswine@promowinners.com with the following information:

Your full name:
Your telephone number:
Your address:

Please be aware that the Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants, and may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose.
You should receive your tickets approximately two weeks before the date of the match, depending on when the venue releases the tickets.

- Please note that due to time constraints regarding your prize, you must respond to this message within 3 working days. If we have not had a response by 14th May 2014 then your prize will be reallocated. -

* This prize does not include travel, and so you will be required to arrange your own transport to the venue.

Best Wishes,
The Hardys Team

I find it a bit weird that the comp ended over 5 weeks ago and they've only just notified. Looked on their website for my name in the winners list for this comp, and there is a winner for my location (Isle of Wight), but not with my name. All very confusing!
Searched forums for promowinners.com but couldn't find much information on it.

Any thoughts on this would be great, thanks in advance

It looks genuine to me, although I couldn't find any reference to the comp on the link in the OP... was it definitely a comp sponsored by Hardy's Wine, as there wasn't any mention of that in the OP?

It looks genuine to me: maybe they've just been slow off the mark, or - given they only give a three day claim period - perhaps they've had to redraw because others haven't claimed...

Scam-my emails usually say you "may have" won a prize, and don't tend to give deadlines for responses, as they don't care too much when you respond as long as you do! ;)
The prize is also very specific and quite 'niche'... Scams tend to go for the old favourites like £500 vouchers, iPads, iPhones, etc.

I would say if you definitely entered a comp to win cricket tickets with Hardys Wines, then this is genuine :j

    Congratulations :T :D

ETA - what a great idea the Promowinners website is, to be able to enter a comp name and find the winners :) I've not come across promo winners before either.

Could you have entered this comp https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4943786 and not clicked on thanks?

It's for cricket tickets and is sponsored by Hardys.

Incidentally, the promo winners website suggests that the cricket tickets every 24 hours is an ongoing competition until September 2014, which doesn't fit with the 03/04 date in the OP? I've found the ticket allocation via the Hardys website, and looks like the match you have tickets to was a prize from 7th to 12th May?

It is a great idea isn't it! Although my name isn't on the list so not sure how accurate it is with this specific comp.

Thanks for the insight, I'll bite the bullet and reply with my info.
I have no idea who the comp was through, I've even clicked the OP 'enter' link (goes to Middlesex Cricket Club FB page) and trawled through posts back to January to see if there was any info on the comp but couldn't see anything.

Really can't work out whether it's legit or not but don't think there's much a scammer can do with my home address and mobile number apart from send me junk :rotfl:

SueMaggie's post is the one that I was mentioning - it's a Hardy's Wine daily, and with the info I found about prize allocation, don't think you're opening yourself up to spam. Except from Hardy's... just hope they send some free samples :rotfl:

Do you enter it daily? If not, it looks like it may be one where if you enter once, you're considered for every prize draw... :)

Hi guys, got to the bottom of it!

It's the current Hardy's wine daily that I've entered. Checked my history and turns out my OH entered it on my behalf while I was in the bath so I didn't recognize it.
Checked terms and conditions on Hardys website and they link to the promowinners.com website so all seems legit.

Thanks for your help with this
