Noticed there is another thread but thought I should start my own as it is a slightly different question.
I appreciate its a bit 'how long is a piece of string', but trying to get at least a ballpark figure of how much we are looking at to replace the carpet in our new house.
The stairs, upstairs hall and 4 bedrooms would need carpet. I'm not bothered about anything fancy, will most likely go for a neutral colour and something hard wearing as we have a dog, and can be all the same.
Any thoughts.....at the moment I don't know if it could be £1k or £5k??
Anyone know any good companies in the West Yorkshire area?
Thanks in advance.

A ball park figure £15 per square meters for decentish carpet. Plus another £4-£5 per square metres for fitting plus £6/7per square metre underlay (if online purchase). Plus stair cutting charge, usually around £40. Plus door strips etc but those won't be much.0

I would put lino down instead of carpet.
We had a new stair carpet a year ago and the puppy has recked it.
Chewed it up and peed all ovet it. yes washed it but still looks bad.
Kids take drinks upstairs and spill them, they don't care.
Lino is washable. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Thanks xyz123, will have a measure tonight to get a rough idea.
Funny you should say that good advice, the dog does seem to love chewing her kong at the top of the stairs....and there are some delightful slobber stains already....planning on stopping that! good point, the previous owners had kids and the carpet looks well used. Can't imagine what lino would look like in bedrooms though, I would have thought that or laminate would be very cold.0
