Hi

I have never been on here before......just looking for some advice from green fingered people please?

I need to plant a hedge against a 5 foot wall, in the hope it will grow to about 6 foot+ and then be trimmed and kept under control.
The soil is quite close to rocky bits underneath, it's quite a windy area too, but would get full sun all day in nice weather.
It would also be a long hedge, so I can't afford very expensive trees/scrubs as I need to buy loads.
Needs to be evergreen, and I'm not bothered about colour or not really-although it would be nice to have some flowers.

Most importantly it needs to grow fast!! (very fast)
Any ideas please? I'm not a gardener.

Thank you

Six feet ish? Resiliant, evergreen, quite fast,

Buddleia? ( also attracts butterflies :) ) available in different flower colours, the most common ones quite cheaply. Our pound shop and cheap buddleia planted three years ago, the shorted is about six feet, the tallest ( four years ago I think) very tall, over six foot.
