Why do I get this message when I try to view my son's school website which I know isn't down or having problems?
Oops! Google Chrome could not find
I'm using Chrome on a win 7 Dell laptop and every other web site is ok. This happens on my desktop as well.
Could it be the wireless router? although I can access the site with my ipod with no trouble.
I don't use Internet explorer 11, I have it turned off.
I've googled the problem but nothing I've tried has made any difference.
Help please..:D

You first need to try with another web browser ... try downloading Firefox, Opera, or reinstalling Internet Explorer.
Are you aware of the Command window? (The black "DOS"-type window that is invoked by typing cmd in the Start box and pressing Enter).
In the Command window type ping website-name (press Enter) and see what result you get.
In the Command window type tracert website-name (press Enter) and see what result you get.0 -
How are you entering the address, are you typing it or using a bookmarked favourite ?
Have you googled the schools name ?0 -
Always wise to have two browsers. That way if you use IE or something else you can at least establish whether it is a browser problem.0
