I had exactly the same experience as many people I have spoken to or have read about online...

A very rude man (Simon) who got angry when I wouldn't agree to him seeing 'the man of the house' who would, in his opinion, be making the decision. A very strange way of marketing - the result was me telling everyone I know not to answer the door to them, let alone agree to a quote.

The website states:
From the moment of an initial enquiry to the end of your ten year guarantee you will be dealt with in a courteous, caring and professional manner whether you purchase a full house of windows or just one door.

It would be interesting to know if the managers or the director of Carringtons Windows approve of the way the salesmen speak to potential customers. Perhaps they would be better explaining to them that women often make household decisions.

Perhaps your best plan of action would be to communicate with them and let them know of your displeasure.
