Pcn SIP Manchester

Me and my partner parked our car in one of the SIP car parks in Manchester yesterday, when we arrived we were told by an 'attendant' that the pay and display was broken and that we need to buy ticket from him. As everyone else was doing this we didn't think twice and handed over the money for 24 hours parking. By this point it was raining heavily and we were both tired from a long journey so put ticket in window without looking and went on our way. When we went back to the car in the morning we had a pcn in the window saying that we had exceeded time. When we checked the ticket we were given by attendant it was timed from 7:06am the following day, we parked our vehicle at roughly 4:44pm!! There was no attendant around to query (the car park claims to have CCTV btw). Needing advice on wether to appeal or pay the fine within 24 hours as it is only £30 instead of £100 if I do???

so let me get this correct !

you have already paid SIP in cash for a 24 hour parking ticket

they issued an incorrect ticket (incorrect timings) - yet took your money so a contract was made

the landowner suffered no loss whatsoever

and yet you feel you should pay a punishment fee for their wrongdoings ? - I think not my friend

you follow the advice in the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of the forum , appeal it when the NTK arrives and then appeal it at popla if necessary

all the while keep a hold of that ticket you bought and scan it onto your pc or laptop , as evidence for your appeals

I think SIP are one of the small PPC's who have a tendency not to send out Notices to the Keeper but go straight to Debt Collectors instead.

The advice with this company is to appeal straight away to the windscreen notice - but still as registered keeper as per the template 1st appeal letter in the NEWBIES thread post #1

Just remember you haven't been fined by anyone

agreed , just re read the NEWBIES thread where SIP was mentioned, so yes, do as collies says above , RK appeal direct to SIP asap (no mentioning who was driving)

also state that a ticket was bought which you believed to be valid and have enclosed a scan of it as evidence , insist the parking charge is cancelled forthwith

also as above , it not a FINE as only a court or a judge can "fine" you, and SIP are neither

I thought the advice was to appeal as RK around day 25 after the incident?

Yep send the template from the NEWBIES thread (UNALTERED) 3+ weeks after the PCN date - so let's say on 30th May.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
