Amazon mastercard - not available?

I have a Play.com Visa card at the moment which has served me well for the last 2-3 years. However now Play.com is just a marketplace their prices are not what they once were.

I understood Amazon were offering equivalent rewards - 1% via vouchers - on their MasterCard which they were plugging constantly on their site not so long ago.

I looked on amazon.co.uk and also http://www.bankofamerica.co.uk/amazon/
and cannot find anywhere to apply for this now.

When you put something in your basket it now advertises other credit cards - Black Diamond or Aqua - which don't appear to offer the same rewards.

Does anyone know, has this been withdrawn from being offered to new customers?

OK, that's a short sweet answer!
Any idea when it stopped? Whether this has been announced? What the impact is on current customers?

Hours after I started this thread, I actually got home to find letter from MBNA saying they are ending their relationship with Play.com and no more reward points will be available after November (and the scheme will be closed completely on 31 December). No alternative reward being offered, it appears.

Amazon's offering is branded Bank of America but I think MBNA is the same organisation so possibly the decisions are linked?

There's not been any information about this really, I was looking for it the other day when I was applying for a new card. Bit annoying really! It appears that existing customers aren't affected, Amazon are now pushing the Aquis visa card at checkout!

I'm expecting them to turn up with a new card at some point soon, maybe they're changing to a different card issuer.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

I wouldn't be surprised if they relaunch it as an American Express card. MBNA have done that to pretty much all of their other cards.
