Seriously, the guy was dreadful, insisted I had to go via Victoria, when I need to go from Thameslink, and would only answer specific questions (i.e. how much from A to not 'what's the cheapest way to do this?'.

If I had known what to ask, I wouldn't have had to call, there's so many permutations it's mind boggling.

Next time I'll try and call when you are working.

There's a call centre in India where a few of the calls get routed to. They're closing it down and having UK based only. I think you might have been in the unfortunate minority. The majority of the ones I know will spend as long as possible making sure you get the best price possible.

That would make sense, I thought all the call centres were in England.

The guy had an accent but spoke good English, but he definitely didn't seem to understand the difference between going from North or South of the centre and that it really would be much easier to go from the right station than try and get tubes across town.
