EDF Energy Blue+Price freeeze March 2017
I had a letter from EDF yesterday stating that I could save nearly £100 per year on electricity year by choosing their Blue+Price Promise July 2015 (no letter for gas though).
I recently signed up for their Blue+Price Freeeze March 2017 for both gas and electricity.
My question is: Would they let me change over to the cheaper tariff for just the electricity and stay in the 2017 tariff for gas? Or is it only available as a dual fuel tariff?
I can't find an answer to this on their website and just wondered if anyone knew.

Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

you can but you need to call them, ive got my electric on the August 2015 tariff and my gas on the march 2017 tariff.
Also EDF's new tariff August 2015 is cheaper than July 2015 so you would be saving more.0 -

Thanks for the information.
They only mention the July 2015 tariff in my letter saying that it is the cheapest fixed electricity tariff available for my meter??:( whatever that means.
Perhaps I should phone and ask about the August 2015 tariff.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

They don't actually have the july tariff anymore only the August and it is time limited. I would ring them up and ask though if you have a letter0 -

Phoned EDF this morning and a really helpful lady switched me to the August 2015 tariff for electricity.
Well worth saving £100:T
Many thanks for your advice.
I have always found EDF to be very good, but I suppose it depends on whether or not you have a bad experience with them.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
...but you may have to pay alot more for your electric come 2015 , and 2016/2017, where as if stayed on the July 2017 electic fixed rate, you would have saved more than £100 over that period of that time!!
It all swings in roundabouts and no-one has a crystal ball !!0 -
Just got an Email from EDF saying I could save around £100 by switching to "Flow" energy ("But pleeeaase stay with us")
I'm on the Aug2015 fix so there's no exit fees but I may wait through the low-usage summer months to see if anything cheaper still comes along.0 -

Over 60% of uk households are still with their legacy suppliers, usually on their most expensive standard tariff... presumably waiting even after 20 odd years to see if something cheaper may come along.
You ever heard the saying about a bird in the hand?
£100 saving is not to be sniffed at, imho.0 -

Maybe, but the Flow energy tariff has exit fees, so if I switch now and something better turns up, I'm stuck.
Also remember that the majority of those savings will be during the winter period, so I can sit through this summer without any great loss.
Only problem is if the Flow energy tariff gets withdrawn and there's nothing to replace it.0 -
I realise I'm a bit late in posting this, but I'm looking at quotes right now and the Flow Energy tariff does not have exit fees.
Must have been the other lot (ExtraEnergy or something?) I was looking at.
I'll still wait for a while though, new deals still seem to be popping up.0
