Clothes help!

I bought a dress two weeks ago in oasis for £20. It fitted fine, so i threw away the reciept. Now the zip appears to be stuck through a fault in the zip.
Is there anything i can do to get a refund or am i stuck with it?
thanks

    Hi Claire,

The dress is not fit for purpose, so you have statutory rights. Am I sure you will be fine if you just take it back in x

If it is faulty you are entitled to a full refund, do you have a credit card statement or did you pay cash. Most big retailers will usually accept returns without a receipt

Yep, definitely a full refund. It would help if you had some sort of proof of purchase, but as it is a branded item you will be fine.

As it is faulty you have the right to a return. They will try to say exchange or vochers only but you are entitled to a cash/card refund. Issue is if it has gone down in the sale even more then you have no leg to stand on. Good luck

the same item if now in sale has nothing whatsoever to do with a refund for a faulty item

if you buy a faulty item and you request a refund it will be for the price you paid - some proof of purchase will make life easier but it could be a bank statement

a bank statement could count as a proff of purchase. As for it will be the price you paid - dependant on the person and the store you may/may not win.
A lot of big towns will only do it for the amount because otherwize i could wait till a sale, buy a cheap item, break it, return it and then expect a full refund. Most will say no. I have seen people go to court over this (I live in cambridge and worked in topshop of 3 years) - the judge (on the 2 times i have seen this) has sided with the company.

All depends though. you might have a nice store and staff. In theory it should go that way but in practice sadly it doesnt always.
