Can I pay my energy bill at monthly cost?

I don't know whether it is possible, but is there an energy supplier that would allow me to pay my bill the way I pay for my TV and phone, for the amount used each month?
I am fed up of trying to keep tabs on how my account balance stands. I'd much rather it was zero at the end of each month.
My current supplier, Co-op Energy, has just increased my electricity tariff by about £1.50 per week, but has told me that my direct debit charge will be increased by £4 per week. New supplier, here I come!
Any advice welcome.

We pay quarterly, according to what we owe. We have an account into which we pay a set amount per month to cover all bills. Just work out how much you pay for everything, divide it by 12, and set aside that much per month. It's up to you whether you prefer to pay when you received the bill, or allow someone else to earn interest on your money

British gas allow this, I recently set up an account with them and they offered me this or a flat rate monthly payment both on direct debit.0

Many thanks for your replies. I shall look into this, immediately.0

Its known as " energy smart ". You enter your monthly readings and you get an exact monthly bill, plus you can go onto their cheap May 2015 fixed tariff and use this.Sunblind_Duck wrote: »Many thanks for your replies. I shall look into this, immediately.0 -
Well, decision made. British Gas, here we come! Quite a saving, compared to the Co-op who promised the earth when they first started selling energy.
Thanks for your time and advice.

Compare the Market has told me that this option is no longer available.GolfFoxtrot wrote: »British gas allow this, I recently set up an account with them and they offered me this or a flat rate monthly payment both on direct debit.0 -
It should be, find the tariff you want then visit the British Gas website and choose the tariff you want and it should say 'switch with Energy Smart' next to it.0

Wanted to say I only set up my British gas account on the 1st May so it is still available, I'd give them a call.0
