A Man of Many Talents (And Jobs)

Thanks to Parking Prankster for his latest blog concerning Ashley Cohen of CEL:-

http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/how-much-do-civil-enforcement-limited.html

The Parking Prankster has been made aware of a number of witness statements used in evidence packs to POPLA by Civil Enforcement Limited. These witness statements purport to come from the landowner, and state that Civil Enforcement Limited has the right to issue parking charges.

However, instead of being signed by the landowner, they are all signed by Ashley Cohen, an employee of Civil Enforcement Limited. In the witness statements Ashley Cohen states he is signing as an administrator on behalf of the landowner.

The only explanation The Prankster can think of is that Ashley Cohen is so badly paid by Civil Enforcement Limited that he needs to moonlight as an administrator for large numbers of other companies to make ends meet.

Love it... when does this sort of activity become fraudulent?

I like the bit where CEL are so incompetent that they can't even correctly spell the name of the law company.

Wasn't it CEL that used to send out a lot of appeal rejections with a staff member claiming to know the car park personally? Now we know that it's Ashley. Seems all above board to me.:rotfl:

That was ANPR. CEL are the company who are raking in payments of £150 a time from the CO-OP for dropping court cases against their customers. They also chicken out of court cases when confronted with a robust defence.

  • It should also be noted that the matter has been put to the POPLA board and Henry Greenslade @ Popla has had the cases put directly under his nose.

If only CEL would put one of those phoney (for phoney they are) witness statements in front of a judge in a court. I would envisage the judge being none too pleased when presented with the truth around them, and a "toothbrush moment" could follow.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
