Co-Op energy : the worst supplier by far...

Anyone else had issues with this bunch of cowboys?

Non-existent customer service. A "billing" website that doesn't actually produce bills. A 10 day lead time
(yes, TEN!!!) in response to email queries that actually don't ever seemingly get responded to anyway; and seemingly no-one to answer the phones either. And on the rare occasion that it does get answered, people who don't actually follow through and resolve issues.

Useless.

I have been with them since 2011, and in that time, I have had a couple of issues. One was that my account showed me as having two electricity meters (which took some sorting out) and the other problem was that they somehow managed to get rid of all the PDF copies of my bills, and replaced them with something I couldn't make head nor tail of. Luckily, I had saved copies of some of the bills.
A few days ago, they emailed me to say they were increasing the price of their electricity, and today I had another communication telling me that my direct debit would now be increased from £86 pm to £103 pm, a hike of £204 pa.
I am now looking for a new supplier.

I haven't had a correct bill yet in over 9 months, all have had errors. Still try to get small overcharge fixed from a last bill, can't see it being fixed before next bill.

I've been told it will be corrected, I email after a month asking when will be corrected to be told your account has been credited. I point out the credit they refer to was last year before bill in question and a correction for previous errors. A later reply agree and says it will be fixed, but again with no date.

Currently I'm on one of their no-longer available fixed deals which can't be beaten elsewhere, as soon as it can be beaten or fixed offer expires I will be leaving. However then I suspect I'll have trouble getting the likely credit balance refunded.

The Coop is a basket case, probably won't exist in its present form for much longer.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Co-op Energy though is part of Midcounties Co-op which increased its overall sales and profits by about 20% last year. Doesn't seem to be going away yet.

    Maybe they should rebrand then.

Funnily enough Midcounties have been adding the message "Part of The Midcounties Co-operative" to their store fascias, presumably in an attempt to differentiate itself. However since the CEO of Midcounties has been sitting on the Co-Op board since 2000, they can hardly claim that the latter's problems has nothing to do with them.

Not that any of that will make the slightest difference to people who are disatisfied with Co-Op Energy and intend switching asap.
