Finally my blogs title is relevant to the blog.

I got chickens!

Two of them were bought from a localish supplier - barn raised in a commercial environment they were very timid.

My 3rd was a rescue from a friend of a friend who'd tried to introduce one to an existing flock and had been very badly pecked.

I've been using them to dispose of my gooseberry sawfly larvae and weeds. I'm pleased to find they like my bindweed as well so I can stop weed killing it a bit.

Now just looking forward to the first egg.
