Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I am rubbish at it all, as a single mum I just lurch from one crisis to the next
However, I have managed to have a DD who is a predicted A/A* student in all her GCSEs, Deputy Head Girl, Form Delegate, Sports Captain, Learner Officer, Local Authority school sports ambassador and much more, along with DS who is top set for everything, star player in the school football team, asked to help with the GCSE PE tennis assessments (even though he's only year 8), currently top of their league for his local football club and has a cup final next weekend.
So do I care if my house is a mess? (Actually I do, but I know that other things take priority as long as it's just untidy not dirty
)
It's so difficult juggling home and children, and sometimes things just have to wait until you have time to sort it. If it doesn't need doing this minute it can wait.0 -
I'm going to gobble a frog and then go off to do 2 x HHC at Noon broken by lunch in the middle and then the HHI after with dinner prep if I have time. If it's gone, it's done already.

Piggers sending you all the strength vibes I can muster to get through Tuesday. DD2 and her bf are sure lucky young people to have such a supportive lady as yourself to help them.
Sorry to hear about the bunny, too.
Thanks for this; I always have lemons in the house, as I have a slice of lemon in tea, in preference to milk.:o I get eaten alive by mozzies (apparently they find Lupies particularly tasty for some reason) so this is very useful info.:beer:Mossie bites - I also suffer very badly if bitten. They come up in big jelly blisters and itch for days  Was given the following advice by an elderly Spanish lady.
Buy fresh lemons and if you get bitten apply a slice until itching stops. Repeat as needed.
Get a small bottle and almost fill with cold tap water. Squeeze in plenty of lemon juice and add a couple of slices. Shake well and apply to all exposed areas, even face, but mind your eyes. Do this 2 or 3 times a day as necessary. It can be drying for skin but you can moisturise which is better than getting bitten. It's worked well for me for last few years
I'm trying my hardest with Flying, honest; but with the bones in my wrists going "crunch, scrunch, grind" every time I move, it's slow going.
One ongoing project is to look through our bookcases and see if there's anything we'll definitely never read again - particularly some of the "self-help" books I seem to have collected are as much help as a concrete parachute, so I'll weed those and put them to go to the CS.;)
Mr LW has tomorrow off on Annual Leave, so if I'm not around tomorrow, it's because we're out doing something more pleasant after his GP appointment, which is at 07:10 in the morning. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon everyone, isn't it odd that when the sun is shining and it's a glorious day I can bounce out of bed, shower and get so much done. Yet when the day is grey and icky I get absolutely nothing done

Have one load of washing out on the line and the next load is due to finish in about 15 minutes, so will hang that out when finished. Hopefully the first load will be dry enough to bring in
Although Mt Ironmore has now multiplied and has a mini Mt Ironmore in the corner next to it
I really should get down to this and get it under control..lol
Supposed to have a friend come round for lunch today, so ran around and got everything nice and tidy and smelling all lovely. And guess what??? She didn't turn up..and now she isn't answering the phone. It wouldn't be so bad but she only lives 8 doors up the road to me and I know she hasn't gone out at all. Grrr I really hate that  Still the upshot is that the house is looking all lovely..it's amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it
Am going to make myself a nice salad and catch up on Castle on the Tivo
Piggers huggles for you (I know you don't do hugs but wanted to end you one anyway) for being strong and helping your DD just at a time when she needs you.
Lynne we get our white vinegar from Winyip (a chinese supermarket) at about half the price of the supermarket prices. Although we do buy a box of 4 gallons at a time. Maybe you could look them up online, and see if it's worth ordering from them. Or if not looking for an asian supermarket near you. And thank you for that midgies tip, shall be trying that this year as I am severely allergic to midgies and spend most of the summer trying to avoid the damn things..
Hugs and spoons for everyone else, especially LW and Bossy

Natty I find it much harder to get going when there's grey skies and miserable weather, too.
Re your friend - playing Devil's Advocate here, but maybe she's poorly and not able to get to the phone? Migraine or something like that? Just a thought.
Mt Ironmore: I don't have one of those, but I do have a lot of dust; how about if I do HHDusting, and you do HHI?:o I've a few bits on my spreadsheets to do first, so I'm gonna start at 15:00. Please join me.;)
And anyone else who wants to join me for a HHSomething at 15:00, I'd love the company. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
