If you don't trust or feel your husband's employee has the ability to do these transactions - why not suggest you do them yourself . Maybe arrange a set day each week you drop in if you aren't there at other times or involved with the business.

It's easy to make mistakes, push the wrong button and whoosh it's gone. I had details of a customer's bank account saved on my system where I'd given him a refund. One day I clicked on his account rather than the next one down and sent him £1000 by mistake. Fortunately a phone call to my customer and 10 minutes later it was back in my account, but I wouldn't wanted to have been an employee making that mistake with the bosses money if the customer hadn't been so honest.

Do you do much internet banking?

I have accounts with quite a few banks and all require a lot more than a wrong button pushed

Typically you need to set up the payee first (not always though)

Then you input what you want to pay and submit

Then it displays what you have done and asks you to check & confirm

and then you need to input your password to confirm (or perhaps sometimes a code from a magic matchbox)

Yes I do lots of internet banking. On this particular occasion I'd clicked on the wrong payee in a list, had it displayed on my screen in front of me, wasn't paying attention and had a blood run cold moment as I hit confirm just as I realised it was the wrong payee. I don't have to input a password to confirm on a payee I've paid more than once before. Whoosh, it had gone and there was no way of dragging it back.

It's easily done. The reason I had the customer's details in my account in the first place was he'd done something similar on a previous occasion and paid me twice! With him it was only about £70 and I found the mistake!

I've used Coutt's and RBS 'Bankline' service - it's really powerful, very impressive. It allows you to have one person set up the payment and another approve/approve over a certain level/whatever - with or without smartcard validation :-)
