UKPC Hatfeild (ALDI)

Hi - any help appreciated here. I parked in a car park I have never used on a retail estate last Friday and went up to the automated pay poin to pay but it said free for the first hour. I returned to my car after shopping in Aldi for 30 mins and there was a ticket. I then went back to the pay point and looked closer... it said in smaller writing under the free for one hour that I still needed to get a ticket. I am sure I am no the first and will not be the last on this and do think there is an intention to make this ambiguous to catch people out.
I have read the newbies guide etc. but did not find mention to the below specifically..
As I am a company car user (through a lease company) I don't want to create any problems for our car fleet manager so have the following questions/request for advice:
1) am I likely to succeed if I try to contest this due to the above?
2) will UKPC start sending letters to LEx who will then keep forwarding them on to my fleet manager?
Any input greatly appreciated.

So what did you glean from the NEWBIES thread? What do YOU think you need to do?
(Hint: it does have a section about company car drivers).0 -
Hi Stucks
I got a ticket in Aldi in Hatfield in January, followed advice on this forum (look at the NEWBIES sticky thread).
You will need to
step 1 - appeal to UKPC - you will fail, but they should give you a POPLA code.
step 2 - appeal to POPLA using the suggestions on this forum and win. Once you have drafted your appeal to POPLA, post it here on this thread for comments before you send it to them.
Don't bother trying to get the ticket cancelled with Aldi in this case. They do not own the land, and seem to have no authority to cancel them, even though if you go and talk to the manager at ALDI he will be very sympathetic. I think he must spend a lot of his time talking to customers about these tickets, but ultimately he can't do anything so don't waste your time.0 -
Stucks hasn't been back today since creating that OP.
Annie's answer is correct, but there's one subtle point that is important (since Stucks is not the RK of the vehicle) ... if Stucks has read the NEWBIES thread as claimed then it should be quite clear.(I'm not going to spell it out).

Thanks all, I have been away on biz so have only just seen your replies. I have appealed today direct to UKPC both online and with a copy in the post and will wait for the expected response which I will then take up with POPLA.0

Hi all
I am very confused I got a parking ticket on 3rd of March sent an appeal straight away As signs for parking were not visible the sign was on the other side of the building!!
Anyway I got no response to my appeal until yesterday when I opened a letter frm debt collecters plus to say I now owe 160 as I ignored the first two letters from Ukpc .
How do I prove I haven't received any letters ??
What do I do next?? Also how do I get the POPLA code as I never received the appeal rejection0 -
Instead of hijacking TWO threads, why not start your own?0

Can I ask if anyone has been successful appealing to POPLA after getting appeal turned down by UKPC. I also parked in Aldis car park and received a ticket as I didn't realise you had to take a ticket.0

Yes I was successful at POPLA. Almost everyone is successful at POPLA as long as you follow the advice on this forum. The people who fail are those who try to argue mitigating circumstances.

Read post no. 3. Draft your POPLA appeal, and start your own thread with it. People will comment to help you win.0
